Term 5 years
Calculation Method Rate of Return for the Term = Return on Best Performing Reference Portfolio × Participation Rate

If the return on the best performing Reference Portfolio is less than zero, the Rate of Return for the Term will be zero.

The return on each of the Reference Portfolios is a weighted average of the returns on the indices in the Reference Portfolio, calculated as follows:
Return on Reference Portfolio = Return on Index 1 × Weight of Index 1 +
Return on Index 2 × Weight of Index 2 +
Return on Index 3 × Weight of Index 3 +
Return on Index 4 × Weight of Index 4

The return on each of the indices in the Reference Portfolio is calculated as follows:
Index Return =
Average Closing Value – Issue Date Value

Issue Date Value
X 100
  • The Issue Date Value is the value of the index at market close two business days after the Issue Date.
  • The Average Closing Value is the simple average of the index at market close on the last business day of a number of consecutive months immediately prior to the month in which the Series Maturity Date occurs. (The final index value used in the average calculation will be based on the index at market close on the Calculation Date rather than the last business day of the month). The number of months used in the average calculation is set out in the Application Form.
