Foreign currency can be purchased from your branch. It can also be ordered via Online Banking or Telephone Banking seven days a week
Purchase foreign currency before you leave for a trip and:
- Get a secure, fair rate of exchange – usually better
than rates at airports and exchange outlets.
- Avoid unnecessary trips to banks and currency exchanges while travelling.

Travel Insurance offers simple and inexpensive options that let you travel worry-free. Choose the insurance coverage that best suits your travel needs.
Currencies
More than 100 different currencies are available for purchase. U.S. dollars are usually available at your BMO Bank of Montreal branch, but you may need to order other currencies at least two business days in advance (a shipping and handling fee applies).
Online or Phone Orders
Order foreign currency online or over the phone and have them delivered to your door (courier fees apply). You may purchase up to $2,000 CAN in the following currencies:
- U.S. dollar
- British pound
- Euro

Delivery of Online and Phone Orders
Foreign currency orders can be sent by courier to addresses in Canada.
Delivery receipt is subject to the following schedule for orders received before 1:30p.m. EST (Mon-Fri):
- Delivery to major centres - Maximum of 72 hours
(Mon-Fri)
- Delivery to rural centres - Maximum of 7 business days (Mon-Fri)
Orders received after 1:30p.m. EST (Mon-Fri) may experience an additional 24 hour delay.
