Chip and PIN technology – a safer way to use your card

At BMO we are committed to providing our customers with a secure payment system. And now BMO debit and credit cards are more secure than ever - thanks to chip technology. Chip technology is tested, proven and already in wide use around the world.

Starting October 2008, BMO Bank of Montreal will include chip technology on its debit and credit cards for our new and existing customers across Canada.

Chip technology is the latest innovation in the rapidly changing payment system environment. The move to chip technology will help to prevent fraud, and make a safe payment system even more secure.

You’ll need to use your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to complete purchases with chip debit and credit cards at merchants equipped with chip terminals.
