Private Client Group is comprised of BMO Harris Private Banking, Harris Private Bank, BMO Nesbitt Burns (Private Client Division), BMO InvestorLine, BMO Mutual Funds, BMO Term Investments, BMO Guardian Funds, Jones Heward Investment Counsel, Harris Investment Management and Shared Services.
BMO Harris Private Banking (Canada) and Harris Private Bank (U.S.) offer clients a unique value proposition based on integrated financial solutions for wealth accumulation and/or retirement planning. We provide access to a team of professionals in investment management, tax planning, platinum banking, succession planning, philanthropic services and trust and estate services. Harris Private Bank also offers financial planning, estate planning, expense management and financial reporting, independent investment advice and family office services.
BMO Nesbitt Burns (Private Client Division) (Canada) provides customized solutions to suit the lifestyles and financial goals of our clients. Branches are located all across Canada. Head office functions include Wealth Advisory (Managed money products) and Insurance business.
BMO InvestorLine (Canada) is designed for clients who self-manage their own investments. BMO InvestorLine provides online resources to help clients independently manage their own portfolios. We also serve our clients through our contact centres in Toronto and Montreal.
BMO Mutual Funds (Canada) is a well-diversified and professionally managed family of 40 mutual funds, including foreign, domestic and specialty funds. Head office is located in Toronto and has a call centre in both Toronto and Montreal. Departments include sales management, investments, product management and delivery, management information and compliance.
BMO Guardian Funds (Canada) offers a multi-fund, multi-style structure through relationships and management by a strategic combination of world-class global money managers, in order to provide Canadian investors with a broader choice of funds and investment style diversification. Main office is located in Toronto. Our national sales team is located in several cities across Canada. Our departments include marketing, sales, information services and administration, and investments.
Jones Heward Investment Counsel (Canada) is a prominent Canadian institutional and mutual fund investment manager. Our client base includes pension funds, endowments, trusts, insurance company reserves, corporate surpluses and mutual funds.
Harris Investment Management (U.S.) provides investment counsel to institutional clients such as pension funds and mutual funds, including both third party and BMO/Harris mutual funds.
Shared Services provides services internally to Private Client Group in a number of functional areas:
- Finance delivers valued financial services and expertise that enable Private Client Group to determine and achieve its objectives.
- Marketing and Client Strategy is responsible for developing and implementing all marketing strategies for Private Client Group across North America.
- Retirement Market enhances the current and future profitability of the Retirement Market business by providing strategic support for product, distribution and marketing strategies/programs and business process improvement.
- Learning works closely with our partners at the Institute for Learning to meet the learning and development needs of employees across all Private Client Group lines of business.
- Human Resources supports the execution of Private Client Group’s business strategies and enhances our financial performance by proactively managing talent, sustaining a high-performance sales culture and developing successful people managers.

Investment Advisor Training Program Program.- 18-month program designed for new Investment Advisors who have just joined BMO Nesbitt Burns (Private Client Division). Provides an opportunity to forge a strong foundation on which to build a Financial Planning and Wealth Management practice.
- Learn how to apply financial planning concepts and tools to provide financial solutions or make appropriate recommendations.
- Learn how to help clients understand and manage the risks associated with investing and how to advise them on potential benefits and pitfalls.
- Learn how to run your own business in an entrepreneurial environment that fosters both personal and professional development.
